  • Du übernimmst die Führung, das Mentoring und den Ausbau eines leistungsstarken Backend-Engineering-Teams
  • Du definierst Best Practices und stellst die Qualität des Codes sowie die Systemperformance sicher
  • Du arbeitest eng mit dem Führungsteam zusammen, um die übergreifende TECH-Strategie zu definieren und abzustimmen
  • In enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Teams aus Produkt, Frontend und DevOps definierst du technische Anforderungen und Roadmaps und übernimmst die technische Leitung bei komplexen Projekten
  • Du bist verantwortlich für die Konzeption und Umsetzung skalierbarer, hochverfügbarer Backend-Architekturen nach aktuellen Marktstandards
  • Du stellst eine termingerechte Lieferung qualitativ hochwertiger Softwarelösungen sicher und optimierst kontinuierlich unsere Systemleistung, Zuverlässigkeit und Wartbarkeit
  • Du definierst Qualitätsziele, überwachst deren Erreichung und leitest aussagekräftige KPIs zur Bewertung der Performance des Backend-Bereichs und der Produktqualität ab
  • Mit deinem datengetriebenen Mindset analysierst du gemeinsam mit unserem Data-Team die aktuelle Qualität funktionsübergreifender Features

Profile
  • Du hast ein abgeschlossenes Studium der Informatik oder einer naturwissenschaftlichen Fachrichtung sowie mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der Softwareentwicklung (mindestens 5–7 Jahre)
  • Du bringst mehrjährige Führungserfahrung mit unterschiedlichen Teams mit (mindestens 3 Jahre) und verstehst es, Mitarbeitende zu motivieren und gleichzeitig selbst operativ mitzuwirken
  • Du verfügst über fundierte Expertise in der Entwicklung skalierbarer Webanwendungen bis auf Systemebene
  • Du bist Experte in verschiedenen Backend-Technologien wie z. B. Kotlin, Ruby, Java, Node.js oder Go. 
  • Du überzeugst durch Erfahrung...
    • mit mindestens einem der großen Cloud-Anbieter (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • in Infrastructure as Code (z. B. Terraform, CDK)
    • im Aufbau und Design von APIs (z. B. OpenAPI, Contracts) 
    • im Umgang mit verteilten Systemen
    • in komplexen Architektur-Setups
  • Du verfügst über ein hohes Maß an Empathie für soziale Prozesse im Team und zeichnest dich durch exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten aus. 
  • Du kombinierst eine theoriegestützte mit einer pragmatischen Herangehensweise an agile Entwicklungsprozesse. 
  • Verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift sind Voraussetzung; Französischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil

Tasks
  • You will be responsible for leading, mentoring and scaling a high-performing backend engineering team  
  • You will define best practices, and ensure high-quality code and system performance  
  • You will work closely with the leadership team on defining / aligning the overall TECH Strategy 
  • You’ll work closely with Product, Frontend, and DevOps teams to define / align technical requirements and roadmaps and act as Technical Leader for complex prjects

  • Your responsibilities include defining and monitoring quality objectives as well as determining key performance indicators to evaluate the performance of the BE department and the quality of the product.

Profile
  • You have a completed degree in computer science or natural sciences, as well as several years of professional experience in software development (at least 5-7 years)
  • You have several years of leadership experience with various teams (at least 3 years) and the ability to motivate employees while working hands-on with them to drive progress
  • You have first-rate expertise in the development of scalable Web applications down to system levels 
  • You are an expert in different backend technologies (such as Kotlin, Ruby, Java, Node.js, Go, …)  
  • You can impress us with experience... 
    • in at least one of the major cloud provider (like AWS, GCP, Azure)  
    • in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK etc.)  
    • building & designing APIs (OpenAPI, Contracts etc.)  
    • working with distributed systems  
    • in complex architecture setups 
  • You have a high degree of empathy for social processes within the team and impress with excellent communication skills  
  • Both a theory-based and a pragmatic approach towards implementing agile development processes are a must   
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a prerequisite for the job; knowledge of French would be an advantage
